GameStreamer Kicks Off Blog Series Featuring Independent Developers
October 11, 2010
The digital distribution company's corporate site will publish advice and behind-the-scenes posts from startup game developers on its blog, GS's 8 Bits.
Sarasota, Fla. (October 11, 2010) – GameStreamer, a leading innovator in the digital distribution of games, begins an innovative series on its corporate blog GS’s 8 Bits this week. During the next several weeks, independent game developers will offer their advice to fellow indie developers, as well as a glimpse of what it takes to create a game.
George Hufnagl, co-founder of eight-month-old indie developer My Escape, leads off the series with passionate and sage advice for others who want to follow in his team’s footsteps. His bulleted list includes the practical “Someone needs to be the boss” and the emboldening “Encourage yourself.”
The next guest blogger is Dan Felder, who juggles developing games, studying and consulting other game developers with blogging for game-industry news site Gamasutra. His first post for GS’s 8 Bits will debut next Monday, Oct. 18, and it will focus on how indie developers can “slay the dragons,” also known as big publishers.
Inviting independent developers to contribute to GameStreamer’s corporate blog fits perfectly with the company’s business model. GameStreamer encourages and supports independent game developers by distributing their games at no cost to the developer and offering an above-industry-standard revenue split on games sold.
GS’s 8 Bits covers GameStreamer and game-industry news and invites discussion. The audience consists of partners and potential game store partners, game publishers, game developers and industry media.
The recently launched blog is a weekly news update, compendium and opinion space on GameStreamer’s corporate site, www.gamestreamer.net.
